No matter how you feel about Carrie Underwood, these guys deserve a shot.
The Show Ponies are a neo-country indie-folk outfit currently based in LA but with roots in Texas and Arkansas. I’ve seen them at the Secret Society in Portland where they completely shook the floor and got the otherwise sleepy crowd to hoot, holler and dance up a storm. Their cover of “Jackson” is fiery and explosive, and their original tracks bring the playful call-and-response of Shovels & Rope with a more countrifed Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes vibe.
Now they’re in the running to open for Carrie Underwood at a major show. It could be their big break, but they need your likes, shares, and votes on gigg.com to make it all happen. Last week they were ranked #12 and this week they’re #8 so they very well could make it. (It’s nice to contribute to something that actually has a likelihood of success.)
Their new video is below, and the Gigg link is above. You can vote once a day, so help out these down-to-Earth up and comers and enjoy the music!
