Stephen Macartney and the Sounds of Winter

A friend of mine is driving back up to the Northwest all the way from Florida this week. He just reached Wyoming, where he found subzero temperatures and breathtakingly gorgeous landscapes. Overnight in the Casper area along I-25 it was -9 degrees, with snow, arid skies and rugged terrain. His atmosphere of choice for that leg of his trip was Stephen Macartney’s “Parity” EP. I think you’ll enjoy it.

Macartney is from Bangor, Northern Ireland and creates majestic, soft, ethereal folk tunes. He reminds me of Gregory Alan Isakov or the famous Dubliner Christy Moore. Check out Stephen Macartney’s BandCamp below for an awesomely peaceful, contemplative set of songs.
